In a world with many complicated problems, TWB envisions teachers as a
major force in finding solutions to these problems. Through peace education,
TWB seeks to promote “a global culture of peace.” They believe that through
education, wars can be avoided. TWB also creates resources for emergency
education to teach people how to handle crises. For instance, their Parsquake
program helps people living in areas where many earthquakes occur, such as Iran,
Afghanistan and Tajikistan. This program teaches people how to prepare for
earthquakes and lessen their impact.
Other programs seek to achieve United Nations’ goals, such as ending
poverty, promoting gender equality and providing healthcare for mothers and
babies. TWB is concerned not only about current teachers, but future teachers
as well. Through their youth and TWB on Campus programs, TWB helps young people
make a difference in the field of education. TWB gives creative young dreamers
around the world many ways to put their learning into practice in their local
communities. The world can never tell where their influence will stop.
