“Green care” is now available in Taiwan at the New Dawn Educare Center(黎明教養院), in Hualien. Since it was founded in 1977, the center has tried to help people affected by intellectual disabilities. New Dawn has now included “green care” in its programs to do a better job of that. “Green care” therapy uses nature in various ways to help people. Vegetable gardening and flower arranging are two examples of the center’s “green care” services. Licensed therapists are in charge of all of these activities.

The goal is to use natural settings to provide the help people need for psychological health. Nature is the important ingredient. Therapy services include creative art and music therapy to name a few. New Dawn is also in the process of establishing a farm. This will be a place where people with developmental conditions can work, play, learn and grow together. The center plans to include plants grown in water and on land as well as wetlands. Farms involve hard work, growth and fun. Mentally challenged clients can connect through “green care,” which promotes healthy change at many levels.

IntellectualàIt has to do with mind. How you learn, how you think and how you process information, so that you can build on your knowledge to learn and use that in your work and life.

Therapy àIt is something that is use to help people get better. Help them to grow or maybe become stronger.

PsychologicalàIt referring to the mind as well as, along with intellectual, but psychological is referring to also feelings, you feel in your mind. They are thinking and feeling in their mind.
